The Great Hunger Book Sale

Thank you to everyone who participated in the 2023 Great Hunger Book Sale!

There are still some donations being counted but the sales total we have right now is $28,720. For those of you who like to compare year to year, that is about $1000 off from our all-time high last year but more than any other year to date.

Over 60 people helped with some aspect of the sale. The regular crew of sorters and pricers was over 20 every week, making the day-to-day work so much more efficient. Set up went well smoothly too, helping to keep the last days before Opening Night much less hectic. The number of leftover books was staggering since we were all commenting on how the floor cleared during the sale. Two Salvation Army trucks came and took away about 250 boxes.

Give us time to gather our expenses for the final accounting before we can decide on our recipients. Watch for the updates and save the date and your books for next year’s sale, August 1st through 6th, 2024!

God bless you all,

Suzanne, Mary, Kathy, and Jean
